CENTRE MANAGER COORDINATOR

PART-TIME (Fixed Term Contract)

The post of Centre Manager will be a part-time post of 25 hours p/w covering the opening hours of the Centre, administration hours, volunteers management, and occasional out-of-hours events.

SALARY                               £16,666

(based on full-time equivalent £25,000 37.5h)

HOURS                                25 hours per week. Normally Monday to Thursday, plus occasionally, out-of-hours evening.

ROLE                                    The role is a fixed term contract for 3 years (with a view to extending beyond 3 years subject to funding)

ABOUT WESTWAY OPEN ARMS

Westway Open Arms is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), with Christian ethos and values. Westway Open Arms is situated in Eastfield on Westway adjacent to Holy Nativity Church. The main work of the charity is the provision of a social action centre within the community on four days per week. We are a well established charity and are recognised for high quality services. 

The work of the charity is mainly carried out by volunteers, and has the support and assistance of local churches, charities and agencies, as well as the Diocese and Scarborough Borough Council. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Centre Manager, who is self-motivated and enthusiastic with significant organisational experience of managing and developing people and systems & procedures, and having empathy with the Charity’s Christian ethos and values.

We aim for this to be a key position, with this person working in cooperation with the Trustees and Service Leads in the operational management and development of the Centre, supporting the on-going work that is already happening.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·        Empathy with the Centre’s Christian ethos and values.

·        At least two years' experience of working as a manager in a busy environment

·        Supervisory experience

·        Ideally have experience of working with volunteers

·        Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

·        Have an empathetic and clear communication manner

·        Willing to complete a Confidential Declaration, DBS checks and Safeguarding Training (please also see attached detailed person specification)
